“Our wedding day was the best day of our lives! That may sound cliché and so many people say it, and now we know it’s for good reason. It is a rare moment in life where you have your closest family and friends together to share in your love and happiness at an event you’ve spent months and countless hours planning. For us, this produced a feeling that we’d never experienced before. It was a feeling of pure joy that was charged with so much anticipation, excitement, and love. It was electric and something we doubt we’ll feel again. When we think about our day, we always come back to this feeling that was built up through many special moments. The night before the big day I had my Maid of Honour stay with me at the hotel. It was so nice to share that time with her and was also a good distraction from the stress I was feeling. She surprised me with a memory book filled with all my wedding events (the proposal, bridal shower, bachelorette) which was so special. She even left a few pages blank for me to add wedding photos! We woke up early on the big day so we could relax for a moment before everyone arrived. It was so wonderful to spend a few hours getting ready with my bridesmaids and my mom. We laughed, we cried, we danced and sang along to some of our favourite songs. My mom and I had a very touching moment when we both burst into tears after she helped me put on my dress – I will forever cherish that moment. My dad and I had our first look in the hotel room which was also tear-filled and heartfelt – he had a grin from ear-to-ear. To celebrate the start of this monumental day, Aaron surprised me with a magnum of 1998 Rare champagne which was absolutely delicious and helped calm my nerves before our first look! From the hotel room windows, we could spy Aaron and the groomsmen arriving at the first look location. For me, this was the moment the day started to fly by and really showcased the importance of hiring an amazing wedding planner to execute all the moving parts with seamless precision. The rest of the day flowed smoothly from here as we moved through our first look, the portrait session, the ceremony, and beyond. Everything appeared to go off without a hitch (at least no one told Aaron or I of any) and we proceeded to have the best day of our lives!”
