“Our wedding day truly was the most perfect, joyous, and peaceful day. Where do I even begin? After our engagement in March 2022, we spent months looking for the perfect venue. Ever since we started dating 4 years ago, we started taking summer trips to Ouray, just us two. Eventually one trip turned into multiple and we had fallen in love with the town, and it really became a special place for us that we knew we wanted to share with our friends and family. So, the search began for the perfect venue in the area. We searched high and low for the perfect spot, and one day I stumbled across Gold Mountain Ranch online. It’s a beautiful mountain home that overlooks the town of Ouray and I knew instantly that this was the place. My vision for the wedding day really was based off the beauty of the San Juan Mountains. I didn’t want the decor to overtake the beauty of them. We stuck to a neutral color palette with lots of organic textures that just enhanced the beauty of Colorado and the ranch home. My florals were very whimsical and organic, along with the linens for the reception, and the stone vases that lined the table. We decided on a smaller wedding to keep the intimacy and personable experience. This was also played into the dinner table, as our food was served family style, like you would do on a holiday. We truly wanted each of our guests to feel welcomed and appreciated for traveling to be with us on this special day. I also made sure there were lots of small intentional details throughout the day, including details honoring those who have passed on that were a huge part of my life; my dad, grandma, and grandpa. I was walked down the aisle by my mother, carrying my dad’s cowboy hat pinned with our picture. My bouquet included my something blue and something old for my grandmother; a hummingbird ornament and her wedding band from my grandpa. I also included a vintage hummingbird brooch on my reception hat from Gigi Pip. Hummingbirds are very special to me – due to my grandmother. Other details included our guest book table that was my nursery dresser from my childhood. The bar in the reception was hand built by Garrett. My jewelry was gifted to me from Garrett from this previous Valentine’s Day and the wedding day by K2 Pearls. The love could truly been seen in every inch of detail. The day of, Garrett and I woke up and enjoyed coffee together with the sunrise, and then went our separate ways. We shared a first look with private vows prior to the ceremony. My stepdaughter was our beautiful flower girl, and the ceremony was led by a close family friend. After the ceremony, we went to cocktail hour where we enjoyed seafood appetizers, drinks, and music. Then we moved into dinner, where we enjoyed the most incredible food by a private chef, Hannah Cupples. A fresh salad, short braised ribs, roasted vegetables, garlic bread, and mashed potatoes were on the menu. For dessert we enjoyed the best wedding cake from Jacque at Montrose Sweets who is local to the area. The bottom tier was white almond with chocolate buttercream, and the top was our favorite, lemon cake with lemon tart filling. The reception was a lively party filled with dancing, drinks, and good music thanks to our DJ at KayBay Entertainment. The entire day went by without a single hiccup, and that is due to our incredible planner, Kayley and Austin at Sparked Weddings and Events. My floral vision was executed perfectly by Adela Floral. My hair and makeup turned out perfect (without a trial I might add!) from Dallas Sainsbury. And the incredible, beautiful photos you see here are from Bethany Erin, who is a local photographer to us in Texas but she was so kind to travel to Colorado to be with us. I will sing the vendors praises forever! Each of them went above and beyond for us.”
