“The shoot location is very near and dear to me, and I’m sure to all of the participating vendors. Waterton Lakes National Park is southern Alberta’s beautiful backyard playground. Problems are always going to occur when everything is planned to the T, and this day was no different. The original ceremony location was set to be on the shoreline of Linnet Lake, a small deep lake surrounded by trees and mountains at the bottom of the Prince of Wales Hotel, but the wildlife had another plan. A mother bear and her two cubs decided they wanted our ceremony location to be their playground for the day. There was red tape everywhere when we arrived for set up, so we hunted for protected spots throughout the townsite and in true Waterton fashion, the wind was howling at a good 70km/h (43 mph). We ultimately decided that where we were planning on having the reception was the perfect place. A gorgeous private cabin with custom woodwork, a stone wall created from handpicked stones from the area, and a hand placed stone path created the perfect ceremony aisle. The shoot location couldn’t have been more perfect making this the most beautiful, quaint, and intimate backyard wedding at a private cabin in Waterton Lakes National Park.”
