“Ben and I live in Charlotte, NC now, but since I grew up in Denver, I couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere other than the Colorado mountains. A year before our engagement, on our first trip to the mountains together, we stayed in Vail, and rode the Eagle Bahn gondola to the top of the mountain one afternoon. We brought a mini bottle of champagne and a makeshift charcuterie board and had a “picnic” in the middle of a blizzard and single digit temperatures. When we started looking at venues, it felt that much more special to bring our guests back up there (but on a much warmer day!). As the majority of our wedding guests would be coming from the east coast and would be making a long trek to get there, we wanted to give them a true Colorado experience. The gondola ride to the top and the view at the ceremony definitely delivered! While everyone knows Colorado for the winter, I’ve always loved it for the summers, and drew design inspiration from the gorgeous wildflowers. It was a very organic and airy aesthetic and captured my vision perfectly.”
