Modern Parlur Wedding Inspiration Bursting with Colorful Hues

August 15, 2024 BY: Amy

“This styled shoot started unlike most. It had no mood board. It only had a venue and a bridal bouquet inspiration photo. It started taking shape as each partner was brought on board through discovery of what they wanted and needed to showcase, and collaboration to make all of the pieces fit cohesively. We knew we wanted the florals to be the focus and opted for a modern romantic color palette, layering coral, deep pinks, peach, white, lavender, and the slightest touch of red – incorporating orchids and anthuriums for bold statement pieces. The goal of the styled shoot was to showcase the Sheraton Downtown Denver’s ceremony and reception venues – allowing potential couples to envision their wedding in the space. The newly-renovated windows ballroom is a beautiful light-filled room with floor to ceiling windows, neutral colors, and an amazing chandelier. We opted for a non-traditional ceremony layout, positioning gold-columns adorned with naturally moving florals in the center of the room, directly underneath the chandelier. The black helix chairs were used to add a bold, yet modern touch to the space, paired with beautiful blooms placed at the back of the aisle. Reception would take place at Parlur – a unique venue in that it has hints of modern and industrial elements, rustic wood beams, and classic chandeliers to create a luxurious, yet comfortable transitional space. For the tablescape, we opted for a floral-patterned smokey gray and white linen, and layered textured plates with smoke-colored glassware to add depth to the table. The centerpiece florals were intentionally designed in an asymmetric line to stay true to a modern look – and the elegant candlelight was paired with the chandeliers in the reception space to give it a romantic feel. We had an ice cream truck for dessert to capture some fun, downtown vibes – making for a playful addition. The bride model wore the Lucille gown by Lea-Ann Belter – a strapless dress with hints of blush florals, adorned with a large bow feature in the back, while the groom model wore a custom Indochino suit. We chose an editorial photography style in windows and Parlur to feature details of the florals, dress, and venues, switching to a natural, laid-back approach when we ventured outside for some ice cream, encouraging the couple to have fun and be themselves. The photographer used both on and off-camera flash to light the space and details.”
