“We were inspired by a new venue, The Grand Hall. It has an incredible art deco style that is full of character, but also fresh and modern. Seeing the stunning new space we wanted to showcase how we can blend the art deco character with a modern, clean, and classic design. Our design started with the right colour scheme of the venue providing a powerful canvas to build from. It was the perfect space to show how bringing a clean design into a bold space can make a stunning impact. Building off the space we knew a clean and classic style was the goal. Keeping the tablescapes classic with crisp white linens, accented with black napkins, and ceramic black chargers. The gold cutlery ties in with the statement chairs from the venue, we tied in some classic bow accents for a trendy yet really elegant look. The floral design vision was to mix this modern feeling of white roses, single stems, and bud vases with some romantic installations on the modern stands for the ceremony. All white floral designs are becoming more and more in demand with this clean style of design that works in both modern venues and those filled with character. We had a lot of fun mixing the more modern bud vase and single stem style on the table, with a more classic arrangement piece to anchor the center and nod to the venue’s atmosphere. We knew when it came to the attire that the dress had to be perfect. A satin finish, a classic and timeless cut. This gown from Union Bridal was the perfect fit, even more with the detachable overskirt train with the large bow accent on the back. We felt this exuded Modern Elegance while embracing trends through the playful bow accents. Lots of couples are loving a classic black and white style for their wedding and we wanted to play off of this popular look but elevate it with some fresh creative style and add some additional textural elements in the floral styling and using the character in the venue.”
