“Chase and I met in Denver, Colorado. Something about a bar and a Super Bowl … We had the most beautiful wedding 6.5 years later, captured by Bramble and Vine, in Sun Valley, Idaho. A lot of people asked, ‘Why Sun Valley?’ For a couple of (very meaningful) reasons. Rewinding a few years to my childhood, my family would take my sister and me to Sun Valley every holiday, particularly Thanksgiving, to prepare for the upcoming ski race season. We’d stay at The Lodge or The Inn, ice skate, ski, and enjoy time with family and fellow ski friends. I even broke my leg on top of Baldy when I was eight – one of 14 broken bones. Turns out, Chase’s family owns a house in Gimlet, a few minutes outside of town, and has been visiting Sun Valley his whole life, too. We like to think we crossed paths on the ice-skating rink or at the ski hill as kids. Once we were a couple, we’d visit Sun Valley together, and we got engaged on top of Baldy Mountain while skiing! The town means something to each of us as individuals and together as a couple; Galena Lodge felt like the perfect place to get married. All of the local vendors, including everyone at Galena Lodge, Rust + Thistle flowers, Bernadette (Bramble and Vine) making sure our wedding doesn’t just live in our memory, and Sierra Saletta with Little Bird Events ensuring our wedding went off without a hitch, helped our dream wedding come to life. And every part of our dream wedding too, from the fairy tale to every single person dancing the night away at the wedding coined by a few guests as ‘the never-ending party.'”
