“‘I never really pictured my wedding day before I asked Maggie to marry me. I didn’t grow up dreaming about big castles, or what the flowers were going to look like. That stuff seemed so minor compared to who I wanted to marry and who would eventually be walking towards me down the aisle. My advice to future grooms who are lucky enough to find the love of their life, is realizing she likely had these dreams of her wedding day long before you ever knew she existed. Grab a bottle of wine, a couple of glasses, sit back and enjoy watching her create the wedding of her dreams and be there as her best friend to help make it come to life. Try not to sweat the small stuff, trust that everything comes together, and always remember why you chose each other,’ says Jake. When we started our wedding planning, we each wrote down three things we wanted and planned our day around them. To name a few, of course, getting married was the most important, but after that, we wanted a location we both loved, an intimate celebration with our core friends and family, and, of course, good cocktails! Your wedding day really is whatever you want it to be. We opted for a day after session with our photography team so we could be more present with our friends and family. We chose a venue that let us stay for a full five days, so nothing felt rushed. And most importantly, we chose a vendor team that really leaned into our vision and supported us fully throughout the process. Having the right team behind you is so important, so take the time to find the right vendors for you. We couldn’t have pictured a more perfect day that felt so much like us.”
