“If you know Becca and Zane then you know their wedding wouldn’t be complete without a super epic adventure to tie the knot. What better way than a hot air balloon ride right in front of the Tetons?! This couple was truly along for the ride. Hair and makeup arrived in the early morning hours to prep the bride and by sunrise the balloon was ready for take off. This was my first time in a balloon. The experience of floating has a clear distinction from flying worth noting. Rather than being propelled through space like a plane, you levitate quickly up, leaving you with a feeling of weightlessness. It is a genuinely unique feeling. I remember the disbelief of being so high off the ground only seconds after the balloon started to rise. Almost immediately you are rewarded with stellar views of the Tetons and the surrounding mountains- the perfect place to exchange vows and “I do’s”. Perhaps equally as fun was being able to romp around inside the balloon once it was grounded. These are some of my favorite photos of the day. In true Jackson Hole quirky fashion, the bride wore hot air balloon earrings and the groom rocked hot air balloon socks. They wanted their wedding to have an element of excitement and not be too over the top or fussy. Rather than have traditional posing throughout the day, I was really there to document these special moments. After the ceremony the couple popped some champagne before taking their closest friends up the tram at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort to the top of Rendezvous Mountain, rising 10,450 feet. Standing on top of the summit you can see the entire valley and the backside of the Tetons. The air is colder, the sun is stronger, you’re in the alpine. One of my favorite photos of the day is the bride massaging her jaw on top of the mountain because her jaw hurt from smiling so much. This is undoubtedly the most unique wedding I’ve been a part of- a potentially once in a lifetime experience.”
