“Stephen and I got married on a beautiful September day in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. We wanted our wedding to bring Stephen’s Italian roots and my Greek roots together and to celebrate our love in a way that felt genuine and full of love. Every detail was intentional, and looking back, the day truly felt like a reflection of who we are. With a background in visual art and recently obtaining my master’s in architecture, planning my wedding was a dream project come to life. Every detail was carefully curated, blending thoughtful design with personal touches to tell our love story. For Stephen and I, the most important decision was finding the right photographer. Just like in architecture, where every detail tells a story, we wanted someone who could capture the true essence of our day. Rebeka from Rebeka Lucija Studio exceeded every expectation. Her ability to capture candid, authentic moments with a chic, Vogue-inspired flair was exactly what we envisioned. As a fun twist of fate, Rebeka and Stephen went to high school together, which made her presence even more special. It truly felt like having a close friend by our side throughout the day. Linden Illustration hand-painted our invitations and stationery while infusing Greek and Italian imagery into every design element, setting the tone for our celebration. Our ceremony took place at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church, surrounded by family and friends. The Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony is deeply symbolic, and one of the most powerful moments was when Stephen and I were crowned with stefana, crowns symbolizing our unity as King and Queen of our new life together. Afterward, we headed to VanDusen Botanical Gardens for photos. Stephen and I love the outdoors, so it felt like the perfect location for us. The overcast weather gave the gardens this dreamy, romantic vibe, and the lush greenery felt alive and serene all at once. From there, we made our way to the Italian Cultural Center where the reception took place. Dinner was everything we dreamed of, featuring classic Italian dishes paying homage to Stephen’s heritage. Our favorite part of the meal was our showstopper traditional Italian wedding cake, millefoglie (made my Alannah Peddie). My advice to anyone planning their big day? Lean into what feels right for you as a couple, embrace the unexpected, and enjoy every moment! It really feels like a beautiful blur!”
