Lavish Lavender Wedding Full of Flowers

January 16, 2024 BY: Bailey

“Alex and Evan met in college at the University of Northern Colorado in 2013. It was the classic story of boy meets girl, boy asks girl out, girl turns him down, boy and girl stay “friends,” boy writes romantic songs about girl, girl catches feelings, boy kisses girl, boy and girl decide to date, and they fall in love. Evan proposed in October 2020 in the most epic of ways – through the help of family and friends, he pulled off a surprise engagement and celebration in a family member’s backyard. There was a beautiful Colorado sunset, family and friends who the two had not seen in a long time because of the pandemic, delicious food, and plenty of champagne to celebrate this special moment. Alex and Evan had a vision of a quintessential Colorado fall wedding with all of their friends and family there to celebrate with them. Purple has always been both of their favorite colors, so the lavender color scheme was a no-brainer. The breathtaking floral arrangements and wisteria altar was beyond their wildest dreams. Something that was unexpectedly more special than they had originally thought was the ceremony. Their close friend, Alina, officiated the ceremony giving it a more personal feel. Alina has a beautiful touch with their writing and truly captured the essence of Alex and Evan’s love. On the RSVP form, Alex and Evan had requested that guests submit a haiku poem about the couple. Alex and Evan selected some of their favorites and had their siblings read them during the ceremony – it was a perfect mix of sweet and funny that brought everyone together. The party vibes were strong at the reception with the gorgeous lighting and decor, hours of dancing, and a Taco Bell delivery to satisfy the late-night munchies! Alex and Evan often reflect on their special day as their one-year anniversary is approaching. They are so grateful for everyone who was involved in that day to make it so perfect – their planner, Ashley, who kept them on track with every detail that needed to be coordinated; their florist and decor visionary, Shannon, who can truly make magic happen; their photographers and videographers, Birch Laine Photo and Homefield Weddings, who captured every detail and special moment in such a beautiful way; so many other vendors that contributed to such a smooth and stress-free day for the couple; and of course, their family and friends who traveled far and wide to share their love and support for Alex and Evan.”
