Intentional Campground Wedding in Utah

“Sean and I both work in production and mostly DIY-ed our wedding. We wanted it to be as real to us and our relationship as possible. I made all of our florals from dried native plants collected during the summer while trail running, camping, swimming, and adventuring through the mountains we love together. That way, all the happy memories we had made together over the summer were with us on our wedding day in the Fall. We turned a campground into our venue and, true to us, had almost our entire celebration outside. We included a time capsule in our ceremony to collect photos and letters from each other and our guests to open in 10 years. Our friend and neighbor, John (who is also a journalist and filmmaker!), married us. We wanted a formal event in nature (getting all gussied up for Mother Nature is FUN, right?!) and we set up a portrait studio for our guests to get professional photos taken at the event as wedding favors. For our first dance, we played a video compilation of all of our silly iPhone footage collected over the years on a projector and danced to that. Each and every choice about the day was true to us. We ended the night with a Disco-themed set played by our friend Simba Sax, who DJ’s and plays the electric sax.”
