“Daniel and I met how many modern day couples meet — shoutout Hinge. Two weeks after meeting we embarked on a seven hour drive (I know, risky) to the San Juan mountains where we shared our love for hiking, jumping into near freezing alpine lakes, and waiting under the dark sky for shooting stars. Fast forward five years and we were doing a bucket list backpacking trip in Alaska. We reached the absolutely iconic hut we were to sleep in that night and while taking in the 360 degree views of milky blue lakes, glaciers, and jagged peaks — Daniel asked me to marry him. I’ve wanted to work with Lindsey since I met her a few years ago, so when the opportunity arose for an engagement shoot, she was the first and only person I reached out to. We are both obsessed with Colorado’s historic gold mining towns and it’s become a big part of our wedding planning! Brainstorming with Lindsey led us to the idea of Silver Plume, a teeny town an hour from Denver. We also wanted to incorporate ‘doing something’ during our shoot. I also knew Daniel would be hyped if we added an activity, hence riding two people to one bike! The day of the shoot we met Lindsey at Bread Bar, had a couple bevies, and spent the next hour and half wandering (and biking) around the town, admiring the yellow aspen leaves, all with our dog Atlas in tow. We can’t wait to get married in the San Juan mountains later this year, where it all truly started for us.”
