“Our wedding day began with a very early start—both of us wide awake by 6 AM, so excited and ready for the celebration. But when we looked out the window, we saw torrential rain, a twist we hadn’t anticipated! Still, by some magic, as the day unfolded, the rain cleared and made way for the most stunning sunlit skies we had seen all month. It really felt like nature’s own blessing! With loved ones travelling from South Korea, Edmonton, and all over the U.S., we wanted our wedding to reflect the best of Vancouver, and the Polygon Gallery in North Vancouver gave us the perfect backdrop. Its iconic city skyline and waterside views offered our guests a true showcase of the city’s beauty. But the cityscape wasn’t the only feast for the senses—food is our love language, so it was a top priority that our guests experienced the best flavours we could offer. Edge Catering set the mood with delicious canapés that people still talk about today, especially the unforgettable Beef Wellington bites. Our vision wasn’t easy to capture (since we’re not the most creative couple), but our incredible vendor team helped us pull off the modern spring garden party we’d imagined. Each of us brought something unique to make our day special: William wanted a live trio of violin, harp, and cello to bring an elegant soundscape to the ceremony and insisted on having our best furry friends included in the festivities. Meanwhile, Lillian had a more playful addition in mind, swapping traditional flower girls for ‘Bubble Boys & Pups’ who joyfully filled the air with bubbles. The day wouldn’t have been the same without our dynamic duo of photographers, who captured every meaningful moment with a creative flair. They made Lillian’s dress shine, playing with motion and fun, blurred shots (because what’s more hip than that?) and made every guest feel seen and celebrated— exactly as we’d hoped. We still look through our gallery and feel transported back to each detail of the day. It was a day filled with unexpected turns, joy, and laughter—an experience that felt like a reflection of us and a truly unforgettable party for everyone (dogs included)!”
