“We built our relationship on friendship, laughter, and a steady kind of love that felt effortless from the beginning. We’ve always said ‘we go together like PB&J’ — a nod to our initials (Pieter, Brianna, and our dog Joey) and the way our personalities naturally complement one another. Piet proposed in Seattle, where we now live, on a rooftop overlooking the Space Needle and the city skyline — an intimate yet iconic moment in the place that shaped so much of our life together. While Seattle is home, it was always important to be married in Coeur d’Alene, my hometown. Returning there to begin this next chapter felt both meaningful and full circle. When it came to planning, we wanted the day to feel warm and intentional. We leaned into using muted fall tones, timeless details, and meaningful touches — from an audio guestbook and custom T-shirts to late-night PB&J sandwiches — all designed to make our guests feel like they were part of something personal. Our biggest piece of advice to other couples is to plan a day that reflects your relationship. The most beautiful moments are the ones that feel authentically yours.”
