“Our love story started in a karaoke bar 7 years ago during a Tofino summer with a truly entertaining rendition of ‘It Wasn’t Me’ by Shaggy. An Australian guy and a Canadian girl as so often happens. After bouncing back and forth between the two countries for a few years we finally decided to settle in Nelson, BC to lay foundations for a life together. The festival styled wedding we had dreamed of was held on the Ranch that Megan’s Grandma had grown up on in Southern Alberta. A golden sunset and mauve moonrise over the Rocky Mountains and wildflower speckled fields set the backdrop for a truly stunning evening. We had a unique vision for our day with retro lounge areas, Megan’s mobile bar ‘Vintage Pour’ and a one of a kind arbor made from wood from the original barn on the property and driftwood from Tofino where we first met tying together our love story. After weathering the covid storm Joel’s family had finally been able to make it over from Australia for the big day to witness our love and emotional vows to each other. The acoustic duo and DJ’s kept the party rolling until the sun once again started to peak its head over the glowing mountains and we began to welcome in our first day as husband and wife.”
