Marielle Gentile, wedding planner and designer, and Elishya Marie, wedding photographer, collaborated together to create Amor Fati, a styled wedding photoshoot. We aimed to capture the essence of the Latin phrase meaning ‘love of one’s fate’. This styled wedding shoot was inspired by an interpretation of a European long table alfresco dinner under the Tuscan sun. This designed shoot was situated at the airy and modern North Vancouver venue, The Wallace. The colour palette was earthy beiges with pops of ‘something blue’ intentionally repeated within the design: in the linen napkins, cutlery, florals, vintage cake, signature cocktail and even the groom’s suits. The 2024 trend of incorporating fruits and vegetables to table design and florals created an organic and fresh look and feel. Selecting natural materials of table linens, cane back chairs, and stoneware dining plates was intended for everything to remain classic, cool and inviting. Every element of this photoshoot from the design, vendors, models, bridal dresses, groom suits, to culinary selections was in essence of Amor Fati – to celebrate life and love in all forms.
