Elevated Rustic Wedding in Jackson Hole

“A special detail about the day: Jackson is not the easiest location to get to. It has a stunning little airport…you load and unload on the tarmac. I think it has 3 gates. Anyhow, the town is small and there are more tourists than locals. Like any Destination Wedding…there are pros and cons of the travel involved. It definitely takes a bit more planning and effort to transport the wedding dress and stuff. And, a bit of extra trust of all the vendors who are THERE and you are not. They are your boots on the ground. We were up for that. BUT, the one thing Jessica had to give up was The Cake. All her life, her favorite cake, the one she’d had for every birthday and just knew she’d have at her wedding…was the same her parents had for their wedding. Finding a replacement, or replica, in Jackson just wasn’t happening. Given EVERYTHING seems like it can be shipped these days, we ventured to inquire if the cake could be shipped. The short version: Yes. FROZEN. If driven in a car…..boxed in dry ice….in multiple boxes. To be stashed in the golf course’s freezer and assembled by its chef, and floral added by hand. Jessica and Kevin were already planning to drive to Jackson (to haul the ‘stuff’) and well—they added Frozen Wedding Cake to their list. It was a leap of faith, they only made quick pit stops, met at the bakery at 5am….and cheered like mad when it was safely stashed in the freezer in Jackson. Live your Dreams. Make them happen. Team effort!”
