“For this editorial, we wanted to create a sense of refined modernity, showcasing three different bridal looks and a boudoir session to begin the day. Our model wore a Chosen by KYHA gown with detachable sleeves for an on-trend effortless bridal look followed by a Bronx and Banco reception gown with a plunging asymmetrical hemline for a fun and flirty look as our models popped champagne, sipped custom cocktails, and found themselves in a late night elevator rendezvous. Her make-up was striking, paired with an understated sleek low knot for the ceremony and chic Hollywood waves for the reception look perfected by Blush & Coco and complimented by a 3.5 carat radiant cut ring from Alberta Diamond Exchange, again playing off of a modern day bride with classic elements. Instead of the typical monochromatic palette that comes to mind with a modern design, the Fairmont Palliser’s Oak Room was the perfect canvas for a variegated autumnal toned colour palette paying homage to the change in season paired with carefully selected black accents to ground the otherwise bright space. The boldness in the design was offset with softness throughout, whether it was the luxurious velvet linens and upholstered dining chairs from Modern Rentals, tasseled place cards, vellum wrapped menus, and the soft calligraphy of the invitation suite done by the talented Paper Ocelot, or the pillowy blooms on the unprecedented floral spiral created by Twig & Bloom showcased during the ceremony, cake cutting, and champagne tower moments. The base layer on the cake had delicately placed ruching to match the bodice on the wedding gown, pulling together the design start to finish. Finally, a combination of classic and motion photography explored with various lighting enhanced the modern approach while still capturing the tender moments shared between the couple.”
