Elegant Colorado Wedding with Swan Details and Mountain Views

May 21, 2026 BY: Amy

“We always knew we wanted our wedding in Crested Butte because the mountains are where we feel most connected, to each other, to our people, and to God. After attending my little sister’s wedding in Silverton that July, I couldn’t stop thinking about that incredible feeling when everyone you love is together in one place in a jaw-dropping backdrop. That sense of your village completely surrounding you. That’s what we wanted for our day. We kept it small, just about 100 guests, our family, our wedding party, and our closest friends. I’ve always been the girliest of girls, so pink and green were a must (and my sorority colors!). Every detail meant something. My sisters and I each walked down the aisle to the same song at our weddings. All of the silver on the tables was passed down from my grandmother, through her mother and family line. My mom hand-sewed every single tablecloth, after we picked out the fabrics together one by one, dreaming about how it would all look in the mountains to perfectly execute my vision. Friends from Texas, where I grew up, made the trip to celebrate our new home in Denver, and that alone felt like such a full-circle moment. Though it poured down rain and the temperature dropped 20 degrees, God gave us the most incredible gift: a double rainbow stretching across the valley. It felt like His covenant over our marriage. We danced in the rain, completely soaked and laughing, with mist rolling through the mountains around us. It was chaotic and beautiful and perfect in every way — one of those days where you can feel the joy, the love, and the peace all at once. Although rain was my worst fear leading up to the day, I would have never gotten the most insane backdrop with the snow topping the mountains, nor the absolute joy of a reception. The rain blew everything to chaos, and had us tossing oranges across the table and family-style handing out our pizza. But in the end, it had to have been one of the most memorable weddings ever.”
