“Jory and Chad had known one another for years before becoming a couple. What began as a friendship grew into something special, taking them from Calgary to Los Angeles and plenty of stops in between. When the pair began dating, Chad lived and worked in Los Angeles, and Jory was based in Calgary. They both put in the work to commit to a long-distance relationship, and it was clear from the start they’d found something special. Never ones to follow traditional norms or expectations, Jory proposed to Chad over the Christmas holidays in 2023. She planned an evening for them that included a stop at Ill Fated Kustoms, a motorbike shop and performance venue that was significant to both of them. There, she had decorated the space with photos of them and mementos from their time dating. She popped the question, and of course, Chad said yes. There couldn’t have been a more perfect way for the pair to begin their next chapter together, and it was done in a way that felt true to them. Jory and Chad decided against a large wedding and got married at their home in Calgary in 2024, with their parents in attendance as witnesses. To mark their first anniversary, they decided to do another photo session with their close friend Meaghan Baxter. They began in their home with their beloved cat Minou before heading to the building’s rooftop patio and around their neighbourhood. Jory repurposed her wedding skirt (custom-designed by NRT Fashions), which she originally wore with a custom-designed corset and veil. This time, the former stylist got creative and turned the skirt into a stylish top worn over a long white skirt.”
