“When Maddy finished college she told all of her friends that she was going to move to Texas, find a cowboy and get married. And that’s just what she did. Somehow since she was a little girl she knew she was going to find the love of her life in Texas. So she grabbed her diploma and packed her bags for Austin, Texas. After only a few weeks in Texas she met a man named Austin, Charles Austin and a few years later they found themselves saying I do in the Rockies. All weekend on and off thunderstorms came through but Maddy and Charles kept a positive outlook. The day of the wedding a giant thunder, lightning and hail storm threatened the nuptials but cleared absolutely perfectly in time for the ceremony and cocktail hour to be enjoyed with rainbows and grazing horses below the clear mountain peak. Guests indulged in an all locally sourced cuisine, crafted by Crested Butte legend Tim Egelhoff. The vision for the wedding was to incorporate the natural beauty of the land but not overpower it. Feeling feminine, elegant and classic while playing up the colorful wildflower covered hills that Crested Butte boasts in the summer, and bringing all of that under a big white tent to dance the night away.”
