Dazzling and Romantic Surf Hotel Celebration

“Clayton and Kenzie met in college while attending CSU in 2014. What started off as friendship quickly turned into the most easy and free flowing love. Early days in their relationship were filled with days at a park nearby (the one Clayton would later propose to Kenzie at), fostering puppies (one of their passions in college), camping adventures, and concerts. Their lives seamlessly blended together in so many aspects of life- with family, friends, and the things that they both loved like music and traveling. Clayton and Kenzie spent the following years doing as much “life” together as possible. Being typical Coloradans, they of course love spending time outdoors, skiing, hiking with their puppy Koa, and traveling around the US and out of the country. Their favorite memories are with their friends and family, and in spontaneous moments that have come without planning. They currently live in Denver, and plan on starting their married life enjoying the city they know and love. 9 Years later, they would “finally” tie the knot, as family and friends would describe. Clayton always knew Kenzie was the one, it was never a matter of “if”, but “when”. It turns out “when” would be in their own perfect timing, and deeply celebrated by them and everyone they love who had been nothing but supportive of their relationship since the beginning. When it came to their perfect wedding day, they really aspired to curate an intimate weekend with 100 of their closest friends and family who have been apart of their relationship over all of those years. Kenzie and Clayton have been described by many as the “ultimate party planners,” and they knew their wedding day would be nothing less than the best party of their lives. They found their perfect venue in The Surf Hotel, which embodied the uniqueness and effortless beauty of their relationship. A touch of vintage, surrounded by the river and the mountains, and of course, a massive disco ball to pull it all together. In planning and choosing vendors, they were inspired by The Surf’s unique style. They wanted to let the venue speak for itself while adding subtle and whimsy touches of florals, grasses, and romantic candlelight. Their florist created their vision to perfection, making the bride cry with happiness upon first look. The ceremony was filled with laughter, champagne, and happy tears. In so many moments, everyone felt the all encompassing love that surrounded this day. Thunder roared as they took a moment of silence for their passed loved ones, dragonflies danced around and even landed on their welcome sign. Clayton and Kenzie truly felt the entire universe saying YES to this marriage. The rain could not deter the utter happiness of this day. A motto the couple certainly carried into the wedding day was that “nothing could take away from what this day was about” which was them finally joining in the most sacred of bonds. They embraced the rain, and it even became one of their favorite moments in their ceremony. Once the ceremony finished, the party got started. The Surf (dueling as a wedding venue and music venue) certainly knew the right lighting to set the mood. There were couches outside with a fire going, doors open with the river rushing just outside, the music featuring artists like Jungle, Dope Lemon, and Tame Impala was setting the vibe perfectly. The rain cleared, almost knowingly, to let guests enjoy the beauty of nature that surrounds this venue. Music was a huge part of Clayton and Kenzie’s wedding, and they spent hours creating custom playlists from ceremony to reception. They didn’t want the “traditional” wedding music, and the DJ was happy to divert from the usual to create the perfect blend of disco music, old school rock and roll, R&B, house, and even some country swing music. Let’s just say, no one left the dance floor until the night was over. The disco ball was the star of the show, lights danced around the room. The reception would later take on the name “Club Surf”, as the night took on the personality of an underground disco club. The night ended with an afterparty in the lobby’s bar- pizzas and more cocktails ensued. The perfect night cap. The wedding coordinator handled everything down to the last detail and made sure the couple did not have to worry about a thing. And by the time the night was over, Kenzie and Clayton felt fully satisfied in their hearts that they just threw not only the most epic party of their lives, but the most meaningful and heartfelt wedding weekend. At the end of the day, the love is all that really matters, but it certainly helps to have people in your corner to make your dreams reality.”
