Darling Wildflower Wedding in Stanley, Idaho

March 7, 2024 BY: Bailey

“Bobby’s family has had cabins at Smiley Creek in Sawtooth National Forest since the 80’s. The summer we first started dating Bobby took me on a road trip from our home in Fresno, California to Sawtooth City, Idaho. We spent the whole time hiking, biking, and swimming at Redfish. By far however, the best place he took me was Stanley. Bobby had been going to Stanley since he was born and it had a special place in his heart as it was one of his late mother’s favorite places. Call me crazy, but I told him that summer standing in Pioneer Park that this would be the place we would get married. (Thank God I didn’t scare him off! LOL intense I know…. LOL) Anyways, 5 years later here we are. I planned 98% of the wedding myself all the way in California. Our last name is Thistle, a wildflower (some people think weed but I choose positive! LOL) so I decided to do a wildflower theme. We love color and wanted to emphasize and compliment the beauty of the Sawtooth’s with our color selection. It was the most perfect day filled with love and light and I wanted to share it with you all to help other brides see it’s possible to plan/execute their own wedding even in another state.”
