“Kyle and I met in college when we attended Colorado State University. I didn’t like him at first but he was determined to make me love him and now four years later we are about to get married! Kyle is a little cowboy turned luxury real estate agent from Wellington, Colorado and I am a homegrown Colorado girl that loves the outdoors and adventure. We love the rodeo, horses, and working with our hands, but we also like the finer things in life: nice clothes, fancy watches, and a nice dinner in Cherry Creek. We wanted to do an engagement shoot that embraced and celebrated both parts of our upbringing and lifestyles. We did one shoot in western-ish wear that was outdoors in one of our favorite spots, McIntosh Lake. But the second location is the embodiment of Kyle and I through photos – post party, dressed to impress, enjoying a slurpee and taquito from 7-Eleven. We wanted to go for a ‘let’s get out of here, babe’ post-event type vibe. I originally found inspiration for the 7-Eleven photos on Tumblr in 2014 when I came across the 1980s Hong Kong ‘pre-wedding’ photography style. We wanted to do something unique for a set of our photos and that immediately came to mind when we were planning the shoot back in July and August. I love all of the photos, but please make sure you get to the end where you will see Kyle and I’s true love for each other (and taquitos) shine through in the outdoor, night photos outside our trusty neighborhood 7-Eleven.”
