“Makayla and Jon met nine years ago at an Avalanche game and were so excited to tie the knot in Colorado last summer. While Makayla had always dreamed of a mountain wedding, the couple wanted to ensure the day felt accessible for Jon’s East Coast family — Arrowhead Golf Club was the perfect choice. With its dramatic red rock backdrop, manicured lawns, and an elegant white tent for their reception, the venue struck the perfect balance between iconic Colorado scenery and classic sophistication. Curate Events & Design worked closely with the couple to bring their vision to life of a romantic and warm garden party at the foothills of the Rockies. The design was elevated, but grounded in Colorado authenticity with soft wood grain details and muted tones combined with luxe satin textures and floral prints seen in the paper goods from Paper and Dust Co. Tables were adorned with decorative pears and figs, warm-toned table lamps for an intimate glow, and individual cutting cakes on each table — a thoughtful and personal touch that enhanced the guest experience. Floral Wild layered the tent and ceremony space with lush greenery and warm, whimsical blooms to enhance the garden party feel. Photographer Meredith Diamond captured the essence of the day in a way that felt personal and true to who Makayla and Jon are as a couple. Makayla wore a chic Newhite gown paired with sheer gloves that were later removed for the reception. Jon and his groomsmen opted for a charcoal three-piece suit from SuitShop. Bridesmaids wore mismatched dresses in summery shades of yellow, a striking contrast to the red rocks surrounding the venue. As the sun set, guests danced beneath the tent to beats from DJ Manos and a live saxophonist while sipping custom cocktails served from the couple’s monogrammed bar. It was the perfect Colorado summer celebration — joyful, elevated, and beautifully personal.”
