“Our story began in the fall of 2015 at St. Lawrence University in Upstate New York. Jay had just returned from a Knolls trip at the University of Utah and our friends just knew we would hit it off the moment we met. After playing hard to get, I finally decided it was time to give him my number. After numerous dining hall dates, we decided to make it official! We planned a fourth of July trip to Santa Fe with two of our closest friends to show them how magical the town truly is. Jay and I had planned a trip to Cabo in August and I was SURE he would propose then, so I didn’t suspect a thing. Jay’s parents planned for us to head to downtown Santa Fe for dinner on Saturday, so we all dressed up in our finest. While we waited for our friends to finish getting ready (which I later found out was included in the plan), Jay asked to have a glass of wine outside. Within five minutes of sitting outside, Jay was down on one knee asking me to spend the rest of my life with him! And yes, there was actually a dinner after! Jay and I both grew up in the northeast on the water, so we wanted to bring some of our upbringing into the decor. We decided to have a “Coast Meets the Mountains” themed wedding with some old Hollywood glam inspiration throughout. The Club at Las Campanas provided the most amazing mountainous backdrop of our vows, and dinner brought us under a tent with tons of blue and gold throughout. After dinner and speeches, our guests lined up with sparklers where we entered the outdoor area of the club for some dancing. After about an hour of dancing, we surprised our guests with a tequila donkey named Rosita! We ended the night by heading inside the club which was transformed into a speakeasy, which included a karaoke machine!”
