Classic and Sweet Wedding at a Private Estate

“Justin and Morgan are very active and thrive in the outdoors. They love any and all activities that Colorado has to offer, so it just seemed right to say ‘I do’ in a place that felt like home to them—the mountains. The couple attributes much of their day to the community and support system in their family and friends, who ultimately made their dream day come true. The Merzs, great family friends of the couple, have a beautiful piece of land, in Evergreen, CO, that they generously offered for Justin and Morgan to utilize on their big day. Perfection is the only way to describe what their property has to offer. Private cottage for the bride and women to get ready, ultimate basement with ping pong and college football for the men, an untouched meadow looking out to Mt. Evans and the Rocky Mountains for the ceremony, the most beautiful patio and pool deck for cocktail hour, and of course an open space in the middle of the woods that had a white sail tent calling its name for the reception. Not only was it important for the couple to be outside where they spend the majority of their time, but to remain true to who they are in the details of the day. This included guests being driven down in side by sides/4×4’s to the ceremony site, the bride making her grand entrance in a 1973 Ford F-250, and of course, having their Great Dane, and best buddy, Bo, as a part of their day. One other thing that the couple incorporated, which ended up being one of their favorite moments, was a first touch and time to pray together, without it being a full-on first look. They felt like this gave them the best of both worlds—an intimate time to be by themselves, to soak in the moment, to check in on each other, while also experiencing the incredible, raw, once-in-a-lifetime emotion of Justin seeing Morgan for the first time as his bride, as she was being escorted down the aisle by her dad. When I asked Morgan about advice she had for future brides, she said, ‘I keep going back to how we just really stayed true to ourselves and that really shined through throughout the whole day. It’s so easy to start getting down the rabbit hole of keeping up with the Jones’ when planning a wedding but I think we were able to stay really grounded to us and it was apparent to everyone. From the unique venue, to our first touch moment, to the modes of transportation, to the food, and everything in between. We’re not like crazy fancy people, we’re pretty laid back and low key. We wanted it to be beautiful and memorable for us and all of our guests, but I think we were able to really balance that with other details that were unique to us. We got so many compliments on the entire evening but the most compliments were about the true love and genuineness that was exuded in our ceremony.'”
