“Riley and I met through a mutual friend in 2014 while studying in Montreal, and reconnected in Vancouver two years later. Our wedding was at The Wallace in North Vancouver, with an ocean-view terrace for the ceremony and cocktail hour connecting to a beautiful modern reception space. It was important to us that our guests didn’t have any waiting periods or travel day-of so we prioritized finding a venue where we could host the whole day and are so glad we did! We did all photos beforehand, so after the ceremony we just spent the day with our guests and we loved it. A highlight for everyone was us reading our vows to each other. We were so nervous but sharing those emotions with loved ones was a profound experience. After we walked back down the aisle we were genuinely sobbing. It was a blank canvas so I had to bring in all the decor and vendors but I just loved the planning process and decided early on I was not going to get stressed out planning the best day of our lives (having 2 years to plan also helped)! Our coordinator Stephanie from Sweetheart Events allowed us to focus on each other and our families the month leading up to the wedding and day-of. We found photographers who felt like best friends, so we felt so comfortable and it showed in the photos. Last minute we decided to get videography and thank goodness we did because having that footage to look back on… *sobbing again*. We felt like we were on another planet on July 23rd, 2022, hard to describe the magic that is your wedding day.”
