Charming Tented Montana I Dos in the Fall

“Julie is a Tony Award-winning producer, the Executive Director of Huron Station Playhouse in East Los Angeles, the Levitt family’s official hair cutter, an avid skier, crossword creator, and professional glasses loser. Teddy Levitt is a sales manager at Fintech startup Sunbit, and an active member of the Jewish community, sitting on the boards of the Jewish Center for Justice, Maccabi USA, and in the booths at Langer’s deli. In his spare time he is a dedicated fly fisherman, fencing coach, Lakers fan, avid baby sweater knitter, and a professional glasses finder. The couple met at one of their mutual friends’ weddings. Teddy’s signature dance move is a jump-drop into the splits. One of the few times he has attempted that move and not split his pants was at that very wedding – Teddy was grateful; Julie was impressed. When the couple discovered they both lived in Los Angeles, they made plans for a first date right away. Long story short: they decided they liked going on dates together and decided to do so permanently. Julie’s cousin worked as a ferrier (professional horse-shoer) in Bozeman, Montana, and she and her family had visited him often, spending fourth of July in the small, single stop-light town of Ennis, Montana. When they first began dating, she learned that Teddy knew Ennis well, as he had spent time at his best friend’s fishing cabin nearby in Last Chance, Idaho. Both were surprised at their improbable love for such a quiet corner of the country. During the pandemic they drove out there together several times, finding solace in the big skies, open spaces, crisp air, natural beauty and fishy waters of the region. Julie and Teddy got engaged on January 2, 2023 at the top of Los Leones trailhead in the Pacific Palisades. After Julie said yes, the couple swept away to Santa Barbara for the evening…where Julie got food poisoning and Teddy read out loud to her while she was sick. It went exactly as Teddy had dreamed. For their wedding, the couple felt it fitting to tie the knot in a place that had connected them before they had ever met, and which had become such a special place to them over the years. They worked with an all-star planning team from Shannon Leahy events, led by Elise Johnson and Jamie Colbert to design the wedding of their dreams. Very quickly, the inspiration for the wedding decor came straight from Montana itself. The couple embraced the region’s wildflowers in their floral design and they picked venues that highlighted views of the surrounding mountains – on Friday holding the rehearsal in nestled at the base of the Gallatin mountains at Bodhi Farms, and on Saturday atop a grassy hill views 360 degree views of the four mountain ranges: The Bridger, Tobacco Root, Gallatin and Madison ranges. In their quest to keep the lighthearted humor of their relationship present in the wedding design, the couple worked with artist Kate Lawrence (who is also Julie’s cousin), and boutique San Francisco-based stationer Sterling Stripes to incorporate whimsical drawings in the couple’s save-the-dates, invitations and paperie. Mostly those drawings included Lucille Ball, the couple’s cocker-spaniel/gremlin mix, in a variety of western attire.”
