Charming Spring Nuptials at the Rist Canyon Inn

“David and Kelci were set up to meet at David’s cousin’s wedding in Milwaukee in July 2016. It was a set up that would change their lives forever. At the time, Kelci was finishing her last year of law school in Oklahoma and David was in the middle of his MBA in Wisconsin. After the wedding they both went back to their respective schools but stayed in constant contact. In December of 2016 they decided to go on a ski trip to Beaver Creek and spend the new year with Kelci’s family in Colorado Springs. Instead of going home after the trip, David decided to uproot his life and move to Colorado to be with Kelci. The rest is history. After years together, they finally decided to get engaged in March 2021. A week later they were both in quarantine from Covid exposure and starting their wedding planning. David and Kelci knew they wanted a small, intimate wedding in Colorado. It was important for them to find a venue that matched their overall wedding vision, but to also find a venue that did not just churn cookie cutter weddings. They found all of that and more in Laporte, Colorado. Rist Canyon Inn offered the classic charm, unique backdrop, and airy feel that Kelci was searching for and the midwest magic and mountain views that David wanted. Serene, cozy, elegant, warm, and inviting… Rist Canyon Inn gives all the feels. Everything from the invitations to the color palette to the dresses to the flowers and table design was picked to meld the welcoming grounds and charming cottage with Kelci’s vision for an ethereal, outdoor wedding. Standing under a family made chuppah (designed specifically for their wedding) Kelci and David exchanged their vows in front of their closest friends and family. The ceremony was officiated by Kelci’s business partner and mentor. It included touching accolades to one another, several Jewish traditions, their favorite readings, and was topped off with an Irish toast. These touches made for a wonderfully unique and personal wedding. The ceremony was followed by an upscale farm to table dinner catered by Sugar Pine, emotional speeches, a traditional hora dance, and sweets from Ginger & Baker. It truly was the perfect day full of family, love, and happy tears. Caitlin Steuben beautifully captured each loving moment and dreamy detail of the day.”
