“Marshall and I met early in our college years through a mutual friend, and from the moment we connected, something just clicked. At the time, I was convinced it was far too early in my college experience to meet someone who could possibly be the one, so I brushed him off. But Marshall’s pursuit was steady, romantic, and ultimately irresistible. After months of thoughtful gestures and persistence, I finally caved, and from that point on, I knew he was the man I would spend forever with. Sharing our college years together was incredibly special. Meeting during that season of life allowed us to travel, grow, and create countless memories alongside friends, building an unbreakable bond over the course of ten years before finally making it to the altar. Time truly does fly when you’re having fun with your best friend. Once Marshall proposed, our wedding vision came into focus. We both dreamed of an outdoor spring celebration inspired by the garden-party aesthetic that has been trending throughout the wedding world. While we wanted to incorporate some of those trending tones, it was important to us that our day still felt classic and timeless. Choosing a venue and photographer who could thoughtfully execute that balance was essential. As planning unfolded, I became especially drawn to the softness of pastel tones, ultimately centering our palette around pale, butter yellow. Set against the lush grounds of Hotel Albuquerque with its blooming pergola, rose bushes, and garden-like landscape, the delicate florals were the perfect complement to the space. Bridesmaids in soft yellow hues and my sister and cousins serving as my ‘something blue’ brought the palette together better than I could have dreamed. In the days leading up to the wedding, Albuquerque’s signature spring monsoons had me worried our garden party vision might be compromised. Instead, we were blessed with the most perfect May day- proving that even in the desert, we were able to pull off the spring garden party of my dreams.”
