Breathtaking Elopement in the Snow

“I was so excited when Shirley and Andrew contacted me about their winter wedding at Emerald Lake Lodge. I love photographing winter weddings in the Rockies and Emerald Lake Lodge is the epitome of a winter wonderland. They planned a very intimate day with a few close family members, friends and their dogs on a weekday afternoon. The couple comes to Emerald Lake Lodge every Christmas and their wish was to have amazing photos in the mountains and a simple, stress free ceremony and dinner afterwards. Shirley got ready by the fire and put on many layers under her dress, lined her jacket with hot pockets to stay warm and we carefully trekked through the deep snow for an emotional first look on the bridge with Andrew.  Andrew looked very dapper in a black suit and his winter boots. Afterwards Andrew’s brother officiated the ceremony while their dogs waited patiently for a snuggle. After enjoying an ice cold champagne toast everyone headed back to the lodge to warm up by the fire and the three of us spent some time taking photos while the cotton candy sunset lit up the mountains and lake behind us. It was the perfect winter day. I’m so happy that they decided to do things their own way and brave winter in the Rockies to create some amazing memories in their favorite place.”
