“This styled shoot was inspired by our love of the Brooklyn brownstone & the idea of growth in all forms from new beginnings to deep roots. There’s a richness and simplistic feel to a brownstone. Classic in its details, simple yet elegant and not overly fussy. The bones of the home we think of stone, wood, leather, metal and glass with the tree lined streets. With the greenhouse style venue, this modern Brooklyn botanical set was born. Wanting to take full advantage of the setting, we traded florals for plants and added propagation domes under glass cloches on the table. The vintage hutch dessert area is intentionally overgrown like it was settled there for some time. Large Aspen, Amaranthus, olive and willow branches were brought in as well as large Boston ferns and other hanging plants to fill the space with life. The dream was to cultivate the feel of the greenhouse and give it an old soul but in an elevated and modern way. New and found stoneware, soft linens and elegant glassware on a heavy oak and steel table with a classic colour palette of black, cream, cognac and green married the two visions together. We spent the day with the beautiful couple celebrating and capturing their one-year anniversary, first look in wedding attire & incredible photos for them to look back on forever.”
