“Our sisters, both massive Taylor Swift fans, ‘met’ at a super young age online on Taylor Swift chat forums. They formed a little friend group and became best friends without ever meeting (living states apart). They finally met in their young teens and solidified that they were meant to be lifelong best friends. Jon’s sister became like a little sister to Ilana, coming on family vacations and visiting all the time. But somehow she never told Ilana that she had an older brother (let alone a very attractive one that was a doctor). He had always been in a relationship, but before COVID went through a breakup which is when Jon’s little sister broke the news to Ilana of his existence and decided to set us up. Jon was living in Ohio at the time, and Ilana in Connecticut, and we couldn’t meet in person because the pandemic had just started – at that time, everything was shut down and air travel not advised. So, we met virtually over a FaceTime date and continued to ‘date’ over FaceTime for a couple months before we were ever able to meet in person! When we finally arranged to meet in person, air travel was still not advised so Jon drove nine hours from Ohio to Connecticut to meet Ilana. We’ve now been together for over four years and married for four months, and of course had some Taylor Swift references at our wedding.”
