“Our wedding was a beautiful blend of both our styles. Although we have both lived in North Vancouver for several years, many of our guests traveled from out of town, so we wanted to showcase the very best of the city we love and where we fell in love. Hosting our wedding close to home also gave us the chance to work with local vendors whose work we know and admire, which made the planning process feel more personal and real. For example, our venue was the beautiful Polygon Art Gallery, which offered stunning views of the city skyline at night, a feature we’ve always loved about our city. For our planning inspiration, we imagined a wedding that was modern and intimate, with a touch of seductive sophistication. The evening felt like an elegant dinner in a chic, city-view restaurant, where the skyline shimmered as if it were part of the décor. No matter how you look at it, planning a wedding is a lot of work, even with a planner and a great team. It can feel overwhelming at times, because there are just so many details to consider. Our advice to other couples: get involved. Attend tastings if you can, visit your venue a few times, help curate your playlist, and participate as much as you can in the planning process. Being actively engaged not only ensures your decisions truly reflect your vision, but it also brings a profound sense of accomplishment. On your wedding day, you’ll feel an extra layer of joy and satisfaction, knowing how much thought and effort went into creating a celebration that’s uniquely yours, and that you both made it happen together.”
