“Shannon and Kylar’s story began more than a decade ago in a freshman math class, where Kylar slid his phone across the table with a blank contact as a hopeful request for her number. Shannon kindly let him know she wasn’t interested in anything romantic, but the moment sparked a friendship that would become an important part of both their lives. Over the next seven years, they grew closer. They would call each other when good things happened, spend weekends together, and gradually realized how much they meant to one another. In June 2022, they finally acknowledged what had been growing between them and decided to give their relationship a real chance. Two years later, in June 2024, Shannon and Kylar with a proposal in Salt Lake City, Utah. He asked her to marry him at the top of a ski mountain in a quiet, scenic spot, and she didn’t hesitate to say, ‘yes!’. To make the moment even more special, he arranged for her and members of his parents to be waiting at the bottom of the lift, which made the moment that much sweeter. Once they started looking at Lake Tahoe, the decision of where to have their wedding became clear. Growing up in Reno, Shannon had spent years around the lake, making it a meaningful choice for their wedding. After several venue tours that didn’t quite feel right, they visited Everline Resort in Olympic Valley and instantly knew it was the perfect place. Shannon and Kylar planned their wedding to reflect what mattered most to them: their relationship and the people who had supported them along the way. Highlights of the weekend included an intimate rehearsal dinner on the lake, which they reached by boat, heartfelt letters written to each guest, and a lively dance floor that kept the celebration going. Their wedding day was filled with laughter, love, and happy tears, creating a memorable start to their life together as a married couple.”
