“My bride and I started our day in the early hours of the brisk Montanan morning. As a traditionalist, we insisted that we sleep in separate beds the eve of the big day, to keep levels of anticipation as high as possible. While Taylor was getting hair and makeup done (starting at 2:30am), I made preparation for our chariot, a Ford Edge courtesy of Enterprise. I fashioned together a partition wall, made with the blanket pulled from one of the spare beds. As Taylor wrapped her beauty routine, I made sure to tuck myself away to avoid any peaks at my bride to be. She got situated and I turned into chauffeur. We made our way to Glacier; the car ride was on pins and needles as the excitement grew with every turn. We met with our photographers, Kylie and Trevor Farmer, before venturing into the western entrance of Glacier. The park rangers checked our credentials as they could see Taylor in the backseat with her wedding dress and the makeshift wall separating me and my future wife. Congratulations were given, and the butterflies were working overtime as we got closer and closer. Arriving at Ten Mile Pullout, a layer of fog was lifting over the chilly waters of Lake McDonald. The views were serene, but hard to take in as I was moments away from coming face to face with my beautiful bride. A tap on the shoulder was the queue that it was showtime. The beauty of the mountains could not come closer to the way Taylor was looking in her dress. Flooded with emotions, we had a short ceremony, with just us, our photographer, and the wonders of Montana around us; nothing we could have dreamt up would have come close to how perfect that moment was. And just like that, 7:30am on June 19th marked the start of the rest of our lives together. Taylor and I broke our day into a morning shoot around Lake McDonald, accompanied by a trip to East Glacier in the Many Glacier and St. Mary area. While the morning was special for its own reason, the landscape of the east side of the park top anything that Taylor and I have seen in our journeys together, like something a screensaver dreams to be. The mountains cut like saw teeth into the clear blue Montana sky. We continued to Sun Point, the final stop of our day. As the sun was setting over the mountains to the west, we realized that our wedding day was ending. We could not have asked for a better day as we bid farewell of our wonderful photographers, who played planner and sometimes therapist to Taylor and I from our initial call to the final shutter of the camera.”
