The Proposal

“There is a place in Montana called Paradise Valley… and it’s beauty surely depicts the name. Joe & Jess wandered across Sage Lodge as we travelled from KC to MT for Jessica‘s move home. It became a place of pure joy and comfort, a piece of Montana that Jess fell in love with. We spent many weekend trips back to Sage Lodge over the years. May 2021: Joe’s mother Char was coming for a Montana Vacation, Jess wanted to bring her to paradise. Little did she know, Joe had already planned to make this trip the setting of his proposal. Char and Jess had a spa day followed by plans for dinner at Sage Lodge. The Lodge Lobby has a wall of windows that overlook Emigrant Mountain. Jessica‘s favorite view. There are spotting scopes lined against the window to look at elk/deer/views. Joe and Char were waiting for Jess to come down for dinner, they were sitting next to one of the scopes. Conveniently Jess had just bought a spotting scope for Joe’s birthday the day prior and had some interest in looking through. Joe suggested to Jess to look through the scope to see how it compared to his. She immediately jumped on this. 300 yards in the field there was a sign only visible by the spotting scope- “Jess Will You Marry Me?” Jess thought it was a hologram, was confused, and whirled around to find Joe on one knee, proposing. She said yes! The night continued to be full of surprises. Joe’s father and brother then walked in followed by Jess‘s parents and her sister and brother in law. They then had an engagement celebration with their families in the library (if you know Jess– another favorite of hers: hopeless in love with the library in Beauty & the Beast). It was absolutely perfect, a dream, a fairytale in paradise.”

The Wedding Day

“I had the vision of elegance and sophistication for a wedding in Montana. I did all the wedding planning and coordination. I utilized a day of coordinator to help make the final touches day of come together. I wanted my family and friends (Montanan’s) and Joe’s family and friends (from Kansas City) to get to experience Montana’s elegance for a wedding. Lake setting, local Montana harpist to play 1000 years as I walked down the aisle, beautiful white tent with chandeliers, plated meals, popsicle champagne toast, dancing under the stars). My all white floral theme stemmed from my Alexandra Grecco Aspen dress that has a geometric floral pattern, this became the inspiration for the design on my cake, the letterpress floral invites etc. The wax seal was also an important aspect of our wedding day. Joe designed the wax seal well before we were engaged and would send me letters with the wax seal whenever he would travel out of state for work. I then decided to use this seal as our new family monogram! I had a wonderful team of vendors and had the absolute fairytale elegant Montana wedding.”
