An elopement was something that was on our minds after initially getting engaged, but we knew it would be a difficult decision to make. We began planning our traditional wedding, and after about four months we started to question if it was really the path we wanted to take. We started to realize that we were getting so far away from what we had envisioned for our day. We wanted it to be something unique and special for us, so we canceled our plans and decided to elope just six weeks later. We tied the knot on a February afternoon along a creekside in the Arapaho National Forest, with the snow ever so gently falling. Our day was beyond what we could have imagined, and most importantly it was all about our love for each other. We wrote our own vows and had one of our best friends officiate the ceremony. With only two of our closest friends as witnesses, it was the happily ever after we had always dreamed of.
