When we first started talking about this concept, we all had one vision in mind: An elevated and luxurious Colorado ranch wedding. Working and dreaming up weddings in the mountains of Colorado, we see rustic OFTEN. What we wanted to show brides is that you can still keep that classic Colorado mountain rustic feel, while adding in modern, lofty details to give your day a luxury and fine-art look. We started by rooting this design in that same Colorado rustic feel by incorporating classic elements Devil’s Thumb Ranch has to offer like leather, wood, livestock, and warm tones. From there, an airy gown from A &Be Bridal, sharp suiting from Menguin, modern jewels by J Albrecht Designs, clean paper goods by CURATE, ethereal florals by Prema Style, and a dramatic, custom tablescape by Yonder Floral and Decor House brought this shoot to the next level.
We imagine this gorgeous look to be the perfect setting for a modern bride with Colorado roots. Whitney, our bride, grew up in small town Colorado and went on to pursue a career in the city. When the time came to marry the love of her life, Tennyson, Whitney wanted to pay homage to the place that raised her, bringing her friends and fiance’s family back for a winter destination wedding at Devil’s Thumb Ranch. Skipping the typical white birch tree cake, burgundy and dark green colors, the wedding instead had an elevated and clean look to it. Warm firesides, delicious custom whiskey cocktails, and sleigh rides all added to the winter spirit enough without overdoing it. Their guests enjoyed snowshoeing, stable rides, and all the luxury spa services that Devil’s Thumb has to offer, making for a perfect winter getaway!
