We are seeing a lot more couples flooding to the mountains to elope – so we wanted to set up an adventurous styled elopement in Grotto Canyon near Banff.
Jemmica and Jon are a real couple getting married this summer, but they jumped at the chance of modeling for this styled elopement. These two were absolute troopers considering it was -35 Celsius for most of the shoot. They never stopped smiling and laughing and were a dream couple to work with. Jemmica wore snow pants under the beautiful pink tulle skirt which was a beautiful contrast against the blue ice and snow of the cave.
Couples who elope tend to live every moment intentionally – they walk through life going against the stream and resisting what is “typical.” Instead, they often make decisions in line with their own values, and they live life with intention and meaning.
The main purpose of this styled shoot is to showcase to couples that ultimately their day is about them, and they should do exactly what they want. So many couples love spending time in the outdoors, so why not say your I do’s somewhere secluded surrounded by beauty. A spot that no one has ever been married at before, and probably will ever get married in that exact spot again. Somewhere for just the two of them – it’s truly theirs. I’ve never heard of anyone regretting putting too much meaning or too much intention into their wedding day. The epic location of Grotto Canyon, along with the beautiful florals from Creative Edge, and winter outfits brought everything together to make this ice cave elopement beautiful. We ended the day with a little picnic scene in the woods, complete with blankets and hot chocolate – the staple of any cold-weather adventure!
