When Ashia first contacted the team about doing a winter elopement shoot in the forest, we were all so excited to work with such an incredible team of vendors to create this beautiful wintery shoot filled with inspiration for the modern bride.
“When we first saw that stunning Abigail of Gardenia dress from Novia Mia, we knew we had found our true inspiration! We ended up pulling our central colour palette from that dress and created a mood board filled with bold reds, rusty hues, and fresh greens.
I wanted to add richness to this inspiration shoot through layered textures and bold colours. The texture was incorporated throughout the tablescape, from the layered textiles on the table, to the hanging chiffon on the tree behind. Rentals from Orange Trunk added both colour and texture to the table with stunning vintage glassware and a lovely dinnerware set.
The venue we chose was a lovely AirBnB, the Mama Bear Cabin in Bragg Creek. It was close to Elbow River which gave the couple the opportunity to explore the forest and exchange vows along the river.
The outfits of both the bride and groom incorporated so much colour and brought a unique aspect to the shoot. I hope this inspires more brides to consider non-traditional wedding gowns, and more grooms to wear coloured suits because this shoot shows how stunning those combinations can be!!”
