At Rocky Mountain Bride, we believe that our Rockies are beautiful all year round. Ski resorts are a popular wedding destination in the winter – with the obvious allure of taking your out-of-town guests skiing and making memories in the lodge all weekend – but ski resorts have a lot going for them the rest of the year, too! Snowbird ski resort located just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah isn’t just one of our favorites for hitting the slopes, but also for celebrations in the summertime. Where there is skiing, there are bound to be beautiful mountains and even if those mountains aren’t covered in powder, they still make for a gorgeous backdrop during your wedding ceremony and festivities. A summer wedding at a resort full of hiking, sight-seeing, spas and sunshine (and of course, delicious food) sounds like a great wedding weekend to us!
Venues
One of the biggest pros to getting married at a ski resort no matter the time of year is the many (breathtaking) options for ceremony spots and reception spaces. Most ski resorts have multiple indoor and outdoor spaces perfect for weddings of different sizes and styles. Speaking of options, Snowbird offers 15 different venues for tying the knot, taking wedding pictures, and toasting the night away! Plus, with multiple venues within one resort – you can host a rehearsal dinner, welcome party, and day-after brunch, too! You may as well celebrate the entire weekend if you got your whole guest list up to the mountains, right?!
One-Stop Shop
Most ski resorts offer full packages complete with a Wedding Specialist (just like Snowbird offers) so you won’t really have to lift a finger to make your dream wedding a reality. Typically with ski resorts, catering is onsite, rentals and linens are included, and a wedding pro knows the best local vendors to help make some wedding magic come to life. Maybe the real question is – if you’re going to get married in any season – why NOT get married at a ski resort?!

The mountains are full of different bright shades in the summer, and ski resorts are no exception! This type of beauty can’t be seen in the wintertime when everything is covered in snow, and while snow-sports are super fun, summertime is clearly something special, too.

Even if skiing is off for the season, a ski resort is still just that – a *resort*! Snowbird is a summertime oasis where you and your guests can spend the weekend hiking, sight-seeing on their beloved Aerial Trams, sledding down an alpine slide, relaxing by the pool, and enjoying the sunshine. It’s basically like a honeymoon before the honeymoon!
