It was spring last year and amidst all that was going on, we were itching to spend some time creating outside together. Our beautiful couple, Charlotte + Kaiser, were married by our celebrant Sue the year before so we thought it would be fun to design something in nature for them and turn our shoot into a real-life vow renewal. The inspiration for ELOPE BC has always been about bringing a sense of the sacred back to how people wed. Removing the details and fluff of weddings and really getting to the source of pure love, the reason for it all. Deep in nature, connected to the land and to each other, our goal is always to remove as much of the planning and stress from our couples to encourage an abundance of presence and intimacy in them. The inspiration for this shoot was life and love in the face of adversity. It was about getting outside, feeling the wind on our backs after months of being cooped up and stagnant with creativity. It was about gathering whatever bits and bobs we had and spending an evening doing what we love without any worries just for the love of play and design. Our design here is very whimsical, free, spring inspired and serendipitous (the wildflowers even bloomed for us!). I think you can really feel how relaxing and joyful it was sitting in the lupines together by Okanagan Lake creating some magic for this couple who are beaming with love for each other in every shot.
