When Taylor from Secret Waters Studio asked if I wanted to collaborate on a styled shoot with her, I was over the moon, and jumped at the chance to create some moody magic. Her spark for the shoot came from the make of the dress, whimsical flowing fabrics beautiful blush tones to create a very subtle romantic vibe. We both knew we had to have a unique venue, a venue that would only enhance the overall feel of the shoot. Villa Eyrie Resort is a boutique mountainside retreat unlike any other in Canada with crisp mountain air and Italian architecture, it has so much character and charm. When thinking of this venue, I thought of the nostalgic autumn season shades of orange and brown covering the fields and vineyards of Italy. I wanted to celebrate this, inspiring me to create intimate scenes with rustic details, using layers of texture and terracotta hues. I wanted the main feature of the shoot to be the “Picnic lounge” We repurposed the ceremony pillars of pampas, orchids and roses to complement the dramatic look of the hanging pampas chandelier. This modern twist on the shoot was accompanied with traditional Italian meat spread, surrounded by grapes and apples that were simply placed around a unique 3 tier cake styled with succulents, and topped off with painted golden tomatoes and berries.
