Westfalia Van Inspired Engagement Shoot

Alberta Engagement

On the evening of January 23, 2019 Bennett and Lisa happily sat down to a meal they had cooked together after a long day at work. This had become somewhat of a routine, having lived together for over a year and enjoying time spent together making delicious, healthy food. This meal was going to be special, but neither of them realized it at first bite. Bennett had picked up the engagement ring only a couple hours earlier and had plans to pop the question in the weeks following when… his excitement overwhelmed him. Mid meal he bolted into the bedroom room and came back with a box. They exchanged apprehensive glances, then Bennett got down on a knee and proposed. With an “of course” and a kiss, the beautiful ring fit perfectly on Lisa’s finger. They will be married in October 2019.

Photographer’s Notes

When Lisa, Bennett and I started chatting about their engagement photos, they asked if they could bring their cherished Westfalia van to come along for the photos. They’ve travelled all through Canada and the United States, making incredible memories, that I knew we had to capture their adventurous side with their van. We spent the late spring evening driving around Kananaskis, stopping everywhere we wanted to along the way, capturing their engagement. We ended the evening having a campfire and chatting about all of our adventures. Lisa and Bennett spent that evening camping under the stars, with their little white van.
