The magic of Sandpoint has completely enamored me since I was a little girl. It began with family vacations, but transformed into a love affair with the area, feeling a true sense of calm and happiness every time we arrived.
I was twelve years old when I decided I wanted to be married in this dream location. Not only is it a place of beauty, but the people in this town are incredibly genuine and friendly. Once we were engaged, I could not wait to begin planning a dream wedding in our “happy place”. Every detail of our wedding was undeniably perfect. The location of the Lodge and Forty-One South is entirely unmatched with stunning Lake views falling in the shadows of the Selkirk mountains, and a sunset that makes your heart flutter. For Torrie and I, sharing the magic of this place with the most important people in our lives was a surreal feeling. All of the things we hold most dear to our hearts were in the same place, living out our modern day fairy tale.
In honor of the place that was bringing us together, it was essential that we utilized local vendors from the flowers to the bakery and pizza joint to highlighting delicacies such as Idaho trout, huckleberries, and even the local brewery.
As much as a wedding is about the couple, it was also about sharing our love with the people around us. With each decision we made, we thought about our guests to ensure it was just as memorable for them as it would be for us. It was so important for Torrie and me to express our gratitude in all facets of the day. Therefore we included a note of thanks during our ceremony, a small token of appreciation at dinner and of course, drinks on us!
