Nicholas and I met in high school and have been friends ever since. I was the new kid and walking into the hallways on my first day, I saw him strolling along wearing a bright pink shirt that said 'Real Men Wear Pink' and carrying a guitar. We ended up having Spanish class together and he made me laugh throughout the entire semester! We passed notes in class and his mom would find our notes in his pockets and she knew early on that I liked Nicholas as more than a friend! We didn't have our first date until a year after we had graduated from high school. He told me that everyone was going mini-golfing and that I should go too. When he came to pick me up, everyone else 'conveniently' had to cancel – he had planned on it just being us from the beginning!

Our relationship has always been so easy – we kind of just fell together. We had been dating for 7 years before he proposed and were engaged for only a month! During a snow blizzards, we sat down to plan the big day. I wanted to fuse both a western wedding and a traditional Cambodian wedding. We explored many options and realized that a big wedding wasn't for us. I looked to two of the best and amazing women I know in the wedding industry for help – they helped us plan everything within a few hours. Seriously these two could rule the world! We decided to include our immediate families and a couple of close friends who are like siblings anyway to celebrate with us. The day went amazingingly – it was easy and relaxed. I still included a bit of my Cambodian culture with the knot-tying ceremony; we invited our loved ones to tie knots on our wrists with their blessings and wishes. It all just fell together perfectly, like we always had.
