This shoot was inspired by the beautiful colors of fall and once we met our real couple we knew we had to sprinkle in some sexy elements too. The groom showed up with a steel guitar which led us to an impromptu jam session in the yard followed by a glamour boudoir session in the Manor’s suite. This couple was recently married and we choose them to have real emotions and moments throughout the day.
When putting together a styled shoot I really like to allow vendors to be creative and do things outside of the box.
Our cake designer, Cobble Hill Cakes, jumped at this opportunity and created a beautiful cake lined with Bosc pears that she hand-sliced, dehydrated, pressed and tinted with turmeric and gin. As if that wasn’t enough she painted the edges with edible gold to go with our table decor which accented gold throughout.
The lush navy velvet linen was chosen to allow the natural colors of fall to pop.
While the weather didn’t always cooperate, but SV Photograph catch on a beautiful way clouds and moody backdrop to our ceremony scene.
We are happy to show to brides and grooms, even if the weather looks pretty cloudy, they can except an amazing day if they choose Professional!
The majority of the flowers were foraged and grown locally by Foxgloves Flowers and reused afterward to prevent waste.
Maple Bay Manor, located in Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, offers many different locations for shooting. Whether we were in the forest, on the dock or in the Manor’s lawn the results were nothing short of breathtaking. We truly captured the beauty of fall and are so lucky to live on an island that showcases the season so well.
